Dear Sureno,
i think the Lakers at this point have to do what is best for the Lakers. They really haven't done anything positive since the Shaq trade and i think trading Kobe would be a very negative thing to the fans. More than that, right now they can't get equal value for him. They shouldn't deal with the Suns (same division, etc.) and Chicago has also said they won't gut the team for him- so that only leaves the Knicks who are even worse than the Lakers.
Being that they have Kobe for two more years- they can try to make some deals to improve them. If Kobe refuses to play (threatens to sit-out) if i'm Laker management i threaten to let him sit out for two years-- he'll end up hurting himself more in the long run.
The bottom line is that you've to get as close to equal value for Kobe. If he sits two years and then he walks- he'll have devalued himself so much- and you'll have a ton of money to spend on another free agent- plus you would have probably landed in the lottery twice- which will make it possible to land another big name free agent.
If Kobe plays out the two years- you do what you can to improve the team. Obviously if they could land KG everything is solved- but i think the idea that just because he wants out- doesn't mean the Lakers should get rid of him and end up being the stomping ground of the NBA.
Go Lakers!

Do you think the Lakers ought to trade Kobe Bryant and wish for the best?nba draft picks
depends on what they would get in return
Do you think the Lakers ought to trade Kobe Bryant and wish for the best?nba playoffs ,nba teams
No they should'nt. Kobe is the best player in the NBA period. And he does alot for the Lakers, like taking them single handedly into the playoffs and putting them in the record books. All he asks in return is for the LA management to bring in a good player so that his prime years arent wasted.
Think about it, if you knew that you could win championships if you had a few good guys around you but you know in the next five years you might not be able to, than you want to get as many rings as possible now. and if that means stepping on a few toes to get the rings than you do it. Even MJ had Pippen. LA need to get there game together and get a decent player, Kobe sees that so he pushes them to or he will go to a team that can get him some more rings.
if Kobe bryant is not happy and sick of playing for the lakers then there is no point in keeping him because he will not play his best. The lakers should grant his wish and trade him and hope for the best. I dont think that the lakers will get ripped off because teams know how good kobe is and will try to match his value.
They're not going to do that. That would be a foolish business move. The lakers are about making money. Despite the fact that the lakers haven't done squat since 2004 kobe still sells tickets and jersies and at the end of the day that is all that matters to them.
I'm a big Lakers fan. I think they should get Kevin Garnett. He will be a very good post up player using the triangle. I would trade Kobe, Yes, That selfish Kobe and get at least 3 legitimate starters and build the team around the Big Ticket. Nobody will play better playing with Kobe. He will still Ball hug. Nobody wants to play with Kobe. Trade him to an Eastern team. New York wil be a great fit for him. He's a good player but not a team player! Chauncey will be a good fit for the triagle too. I was telling my friends before to sign him over Payton before but they just laughed at me. Put a Mike Miller too (Grizzlies) and you have a very competitive team. Also, Fire Mitch! He has not done anything good to the Lakers. Kobe's days as a Laker are numbered!!!
absolutely not...
Nah!!
GO SPURS GO!!!!
yes they should for vince carter kobe and the nets will dominate because the nets need a scorer and also rj and kidd will follow him that will work.
Not really. He is under contract and should play for the team that he is with. Kobe ran a lot of people off the team; now he should reap from the disord that he has sown.
What kinda of stupid plan is that? Wish for the best?
Definitely, if they do that, they will go in to rebuild mode. think about this trade, Kobe goes to the trailblazers for Zach Randolph and the No 1 overall pick.......... They'll have an awesome player with a veteran to complement him......
If its tearing the team apart, yes they should. The Lakers dont have to wish for the best because they are going to ask for someone of great value to replace arguably the best in the NBA right now.
No. LA loves a whiney baby.
No way, statistically Kobe is currently the best NBA, I am not a Kobe fan, but it's not hard to see that. Just look at this:
PPG- 32.8
RPG- 5.20
APG- 4.4
Why trade a player like that?
