wow i usually hate all trade machine proposals, but that one actually isn't that bad. i could see something very similar to that going down.

This is a very bad trade for several reasons. One, no one wants Kwame Brown. Two, the Nets obviously get the short end of the stick seeing how they now have 3 more useless players that should be in the D league. More importantly, I always say that teams with GOOD players like Shawn Marion don't trade them to teams in the same conference let alone the same division.
The celtics maybe this year. The lakers will have a hard time getting past the spurs, suns or mavericks. But I have to admit it would be fun to see another finals of the lakers and celtics. Those eighties finals were classics.

I don't know if Sacramento ever came out and confirmed that Artest was involved in the trade, but yes, I heard tthe rumour too.

Besides Kobe, I don't see any other good defenders on the Lakers squad. In Ron Artest, you have a lockdown defender who brings toughness and scoring.

Kobe and anyone on the same team is not necessarily a good idea, but you need 5 on the floor, right? Same with Ron...dude is straight up insane, but most teams without a strong core would get better by adding him to the roster.

If the trade went through, I think the Lakers get better. A lot better. Shoe-in for the playoffs, at least. They would have 3 consistent scorers and 2 good defenders. Would they be able to now beat either San Antonio, Dallas, or Phoenix???

this Was a rumor a while back before season started. but it died out fast. its not going to happen. plus i dont think artest would fit in well anyways. lakers have plenty to fill that SF spot, hes not a necessary player to trade for.

It's possible. Remember, it's a 7 seed vs the 3 seed, in actuality, if you look at regular season records.

Also, the Lakers match up fairly well with the Suns. The Lakers have good perimiter defenders in Sasha, Kobe, and Smoosh, and the Suns rely heavily on the 3-ball. Also, Kwame is starting to improve, and no Sun can match up with him physically, down low, if he comes anywhere near his potential. Plus Phil Jackson has brought a decent team defense to LA, and the Lakers are young enough to keep up with the Sun's frenetic pace.

I actually don't think it would be much of an upset if the Lakers beat the Suns, but either way, neither team will win the West and go to the Finals.
